Urban Puddle Jumpers
Many of the materials I use during outdoor explorations are found or donated items. I check out local thrift stores during the year for wicker baskets, wooden bowls, buckets, shovels and more. The Little Red Wagon project is a school wide project of plastic bins with materials for outdoor explorations from Kindergarten to Grade 3. As the bins are being updated, I will post materials and information here for your own "Little Red Wagon".
Outerwear
I asked my adminstrator if we could put a "Muddy Buddy" on the supply lists of the Kindergarten students and her response was to ask our district about purchasing a class set of these fabulous rain suits from Oakiwear. I am hoping ot order a few pairs of the rain boots to have in the classroom as emergency boots.
Exploration Tools
Some of these tools have been purchased through school money and PAC fundraising, and other supplies are provided by me. I try to ask for donations as much as possible.
